What does "Super 120s" mean?
The Super count refers to the fineness of the wool fiber. Higher number = finer fiber = softer drape, but also less durable. Super 100s to 130s hit the sweet spot for most occasions.
The hand-feel test
Run your hand across the fabric. Premium wool feels cool and smooth, never scratchy. A slight grab is fine; a rough texture is a red flag.
Origin matters
Italian (Loro Piana, Vitale Barberis) and English (Holland and Sherry) mills set the standard. Most quality suit brands source from one of these.
